10. The Website Security Checker
- When you check a website we process the address you enter, the publicly available information we fetch from that website, and your IP address, to run the check and to protect the service from abuse. Results are held in our server's memory for up to one hour and are not written to a database. Our logs record the domain checked, the time, the outcome and a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, never your full IP address.
- When you send an enquiry we process your name, optional business name, email address, website, the type of help you want, your message and, if you leave the box ticked, the scan report for your website, to reply to you. We'll only send you marketing emails if you separately opted in.
- Cookies: the checker doesn't set cookies or use analytics or advertising trackers.
- Checking other people's websites: the checker only reads information that any visitor's browser receives. Please only check websites you own, manage or have permission to assess.
